Writing Policies Right

New this month, we are launching a new offering called “Writing Policies Right.” Rooted in the Plain Language movement, this 60 minute session will discuss best practices and document structure that can make policy and procedural documents easier to read and more effective, especially when reading online.

New Features Launched In April

Zip files now always open with native Windows apps
When performing a PDF Backup, some zip files would present a versions of an error message and would not open. This issue has been resolved, and no longer requires the third party 7-Zip program to open your backups.

For more on this feature, see this Newswire post.

Recurring Acknowledgments Update (Admins only)
With this new feature, Site Administrators will be able to click the displayed name of the user to be taken to the user’s detail page or the user group to view all users within the group.

For more on this feature, see this Newswire post.

Projects We're Working On In May

Scheduled Effective Dates
Some policies require a delay between the date they complete the Approval process and the date they become active and searchable for all users. This may be the result of users needing to complete training, reach an implementation date required by a regulation, or other circumstances.

This feature will allow Owners to mark an effective date (or number of days) past the final date of approval, which will determine when a policy becomes active.

Structured Headings
The structured headings feature will allow users with editor permissions to easily apply structured numbering to all headings. When applied, this feature will automatically apply subnumbered formatting (1, 1.1, 1.1.1, etc.) to all heading styled text boxes without the need to use a numbered list format.

This feature will not only help those seeking to create technical style documents, but it will also make scanning a document easier so you can locate the information you need even more quickly.
