PolicyStat Service Issues 2/28/17
Amazon Web Service Server Outage
For a period of time on Tuesday February 28, PolicyStat access and performance was degraded, and for a short time, service was unavailable. This was due to a major server outage from the Amazon Web Services S3 system. PolicyStat uses the S3 system to manage files storage (like attachments on policies, logos, PDF backups, and other related functions).
As of 5:45 EST on February 28th, PolicyStat's service provider, Amazon Web Services resolved all issues and PolicyStat returned to 100%! The issue has been resolved, but please let us know at [email protected] if you continue to experience any unexpected behavior with the site.
Thanks again for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
New Features Launched In February
Links to Specific Sections
Have you ever wanted to send someone directly to a specific section of a document? You can now do just that for any document.
Header text automatically contain icons that link to the specific section. These links can then be copied and pasted within emails, Intranet sites, or anywhere else you'd like to direct users to view a specific location of a document.
This feature was applied to all policies across the site during the later part of February. For more on this feature, see this Knowledge Base article or this Newswire post.
Single Sign On Home Site Selection
If your site is part of a network that uses Single Sign-On to log you in to PolicyStat, users will now be asked to select a default home site. On subsequent logins, they will be taken directly to their home site after login, in place of needing to select the site from the drop-down list.
This Knowledge Base article explains the process.
Projects We're Working On In March
Scheduled Effective Dates
Some policies require a delay between the date they complete the Approval process and the date they become active and searchable for all users. This may be the result of users needing to complete training, reach an implementation date required by a regulation, or other circumstances.
This feature will allow Owners to mark an effective date (or number of days) past the final date of approval, which will determine when a policy becomes active.
The structured headings feature will allow users with editor access to easily apply structured numbering to all headings. When applied, this feature will apply subnumbered formatting (1, 3.1, 5.7,1, etc.) to all heading styled text boxes without the need to use a numbered list format.
This feature will help those seeking to create technical style documents and will make scanning to locate the items you need, even quicker.
